Hankook Tire America, Rhys Millen Continue Racing Partnership in 2018
The company will sponsor the driver’s off-road races this year
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hankook Tire and Rhys Millen are teaming up to achieve success again in 2018.
Hankook Tire America will serve as the official tire sponsor of Rhys Millen Racing’s off-road efforts in the 6100 class this year. The tire-industry leader will provide Dynapro MT tires for Millen’s 6100 race truck at five 2018 races, including the world-renowned Baja 1000.
Millen has more than 20 years of racing experience across a variety of disciplines. He drove a set of Hankook tires to victory at the 2017 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, winning the Time Attack 1 Class and finishing fourth overall at the event, the latest in a slew of successful Pikes Peak results he achieved in partnership with Hankook.
This year, Millen will tackle a challenging off-road schedule which includes the notorious Baja 500 and 1000 races as well as the Vegas to Reno race, which winds its way through 550 miles of desert between Nevada’s two largest cities. Millen will partner in the 6100 trophy truck class with Hammond Meredith, who finished sixth in the UTV division at last year’s Baja 1000.

Hankook will provide tires for Millen at the following races:
April 20-27 NORRA 1000 Baja, Mexico
May 30 – June 3 Baja 500 Baja, Mexico
August 15-18 Vegas to Reno Nevada
September 19-23 Tijuana Challenge Baja, Mexico
November 14-18 Baja 1000 Baja, Mexico
The racing sponsorship is the latest in a series of aggressive marketing moves aimed at continuing Hankook Tire’s dramatic growth in the American market. In addition to supporting Millen’s 2018 off-road schedule, Hankook also recently became the Official Tire of Major League Baseball.
