Hankook Tire Sponsors Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
Nashville, Tenn., (December 18, 2017) – Hankook Tire is giving back to the Middle Tennessee community this holiday season by providing support for the Salvation Army of Nashville’s Angel Tree Program.
To help spread awareness and raise money for the program, Hankook provided a monetary donation to fund promotional Angel Tree messages to air on Nashville’s NBC television affiliate, WSMV. Through three Hankook-sponsored promotional messages airing from November to January, the company is encouraging thousands of Middle Tennessee residents to support the Angel Tree Program.
In addition to sponsoring promotional messages, Hankook has also encouraged its employees to get involved by adopting an angel, donating items or donating time to the Salvation Army to assist in wrapping angel gifts.
“Hankook Tire values the well-being of the Middle Tennessee community, and we happy to provide gifts to children who need them,” said Hankook Tire America Corp. President Hosung Suh. “The holiday season is a special time, and Hankook wishes to make it an enjoyable season for everyone, especially those who are in difficult circumstances.”
As part of Hankook Tire’s proactive corporate culture, the company encourages employees to regularly participate in community outreach activities like the Angel Tree Program. Each year, Hankook seeks to provide its employees with opportunities to give back, such as the United Way Community Baby Shower earlier this year where employees donated baby items to help impoverished mothers and children in the area. Hankook Tire strongly values corporate social responsibility as an important part of its organizational roots, and is excited to carry out many more charitable initiatives in 2018.

About Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
The Angel Tree is a unique program that started in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1979. It involves the community in a direct way allowing them to become personally involved by sharing with those less fortunate in their community. The program provides gifts of new clothing and toys to thousands of children who otherwise might not have anything for Christmas. Children who are recipients of Angel Tree gifts are from families who have applied for Christmas assistance through the Social Services program of The Salvation Army. During the application process, the clothing sizes and special needs of the children are determined and written on the application and is then transferred to paper “angels” along with the child’s first name, age, and whether the gift is for a boy or a girl.
