Hankook Tyre extends partnership with National Rugby League

Seoul, Korea, Mar 3, 2020 – Leading tyre manufacturer, Hankook Tyre has extended their current partnership with National Rugby League (NRL) for the year 2020 continuing to hold the title “Official tyre of NRL”.

As part of 2020 contract extension, Hankook will be launching one of the biggest consumer promotions ever seen in the tyre industry which will run from April to August 2020. Thursday Night In-goal virtual signage and on-ground LED signage at the State of Origin Series and during the finals are the other major assets of the sponsorship.

Ted Choi, Managing Director at Hankook Australia, comments, “We are happy to continue our association with NRL being one of the biggest sporting codes of the country. Our association over the years has helped Hankook increase brand awareness and we intend to align our strategy to target brand preference for 2020 onwards.” He added, “The NRL's reach includes millions of people across Australia and throughout the world. I am pleased to say that the renewal substantiates our goal of placing Hankook at the top of mind in the tyre industry.”

Marc Sibbald, Sales Director at Hankook is excited about the 2020 season starting in March and Hankook’s long term involvement with the sport. "It's great to continue Hankook's association with the NRL for another year. We're excited about the season ahead including Magic Round and State of Origin Game One in Adelaide”, says Sibbald. "Each year the game gets bigger and 2020 will be a big year for Hankook's NRL sponsorship because we have some exciting things planned. We want to link the NRL to every purchase of Hankook tyres by a consumer. And we want to reward our retail partners for their support by giving them unique NRL experiences."

Throughout the season, Hankook will appear in NRL Premiership series, all three State of Origin games and the Finals series.
